Birch furniture by Jolyon Yates

The poetic forms of the birch furniture by Jolyon Yates may indeed inspire verses of admiration. Contemporary, organic Ode chairs; this stunning furniture is handcrafted in Northumberland, England. The chairs are stripped back to their essential, flowing lines, and interpreted into natural birch laminate forms. Shown here are chairs including the charming Leaf stool, the easy-going Savannah rocker and the tranquil Ocean rocker. Like a piece of art or sculpture, the Ode chair will add style and grace to any home, urban or rural. Finished in satin lacquer, the beauty of the grained birch wood is a gift of nature. Contact Jolyon Yates to find out more about their Ode furniture collection.

Drift Bench | Future System | PID

The exaggerated, elongated form of the Drift bench has a modulated, fluid language that is characteristic of the
work of Future Systems architects. With this design Amanda Levete, principal architect with Future Systems, has
interpreted the company's signature style within a piece of fixtures design with extreme sculptural properties.
Accentuating form with the ambition of turning a simple object into one with subtle complexities was the aim
here. The Drift bench is constructed from glass reinforced plastic with either a high glos finish otherwise a concrete
skin. Both are suitable for outdoor use.

The Limited Edition Drift bench is constructed from dark stained beech. The use of hand-carved wood in the
Limited Edition version accentuates the anatomy of the bench as the revealed layers exaggerate the curves of
the design.

Future Systems are an architectural practice embroiled daily in the mission towards rejuvenating contemporary
building practises. Celebrated for their innovative structures, their unique application of construction
materials plus congratulated frequently for their courageous architectural schemes, Future Systems are leading
British creative.

The practice is recognised worldwide for consistently challenging traditional pre-conceptions of space plus
demonstrating environmental concerns plus efficiency without the need to compromise on contemporary form. Such
qualities have been applied to many prestigious projects; the media centre at Lords Cricket Ground for MCC,
the India Quay plus Canary Wharf bridge, retail designs for Comme des Garcons in New York, Tokyo plus Paris plus
the much aplauded new Selfridges department store in Birmingham. Principal architects Amanda Levete plus Jan
Kaplicky are widely recognised key players on an international architectural platform.

Placentero Lounge Chair | Batti | PID

Relaunch of the much loved Placentero, only found at PID.Se for direct delivery around the world
The Placentero is designed by the young Argentinian designer Batti.

The fibreglass Placentero lounge chair got its name from combination of two words linked to the pregnancy period, "placenta" plus "pleasure".

The chair itself is pleasurably comfortable giving you the chance to make any movement plus create whichever the position you like.

It is stable in any position, even when is upside-down.

How did the design of the Placentero come up?
We had performed an investigation about the experiences the human beings have before birth.
This took us to meet some techniques of recreation of this natural situation.
As a result of this deep investigation, this lounge chair design came almost naturally - it is able to hold a person plus give the possibility to connect with himself...
Weighs 70 Pounds (32 Kg).
The seat's eco leather comes in multiple colours. The outside sphere plastic surface is fibreglass plus is finished with coat-gel which helps to erase scratches using polish paste.

Recommendations:

Do not use shoes otherwise rigid elements plus accessories.

To get to more harmonics movements, place Placentero over a padded surface, smooth, without difference of level, for example: carpet, rubber otherwise any surface which not present rigidity.

To clean Placentero you must do it with cleaning products out of solvents plus alcohol.
We recommend to use neutral soap.

In the case of a surface scratch, to clean the exterior, you can use any polish paste of super fine grain with a cloth.

Shell: Black, white
Tapestry: Black, white, red, green, brown, grey.

Created as a result of two years research into sleep habits, problems and therapies, Lomme skilfully combines natural therapies with the cutting edge technology. Using light, sound and massage therapies, Lomme offers an environment to enhance all the senses - forming a place to rejuvenate, meditate and above all sleep.
