Hayon Bathroom Colllection | Hayon Studio

The celebration of the bathroom as a piece of furniture. This bathroom shouts to be admired. Stylized, yet almost alive with shapes that combine the organic with minimal and colors that had never before seen in a bathroom. "I didn’t want to approach this as a bathroom collection. Everything is so white, so clinical. And it’s a room hidden from everyone. Why not treat it as furniture? And make a piece that can be used in any room of the house? So I introduced more explosive colors and unusual shapes that were both modern and classic…"............more

Sé Collection II Jaime Hayon | Hayon Studio

Curvaceous, lithe and refined, Sé’s second Collection of furniture has a celebratory air. For this collection Hayon, who is renowned for taking inspiration from observations of everyday life, sought stimulation from two key sources: musical instruments and insects. After looking at strong curvilinear shapes - violins, flutes, beetles, the harp - Hayon sketched the Collection’s furniture forms, analysing them in terms of materials and the subsequent manufacturing process, then transformed them into this coherent family. The Collection's pieces are strong sculptural expressions that emphasise the space around them. The results are here: clean, organic shapes that can work in all kinds of environments. This is furniture that fits into our lives, and yet also transcends the everyday.....more

Lighting Design | Kermese Designed By Giulio Iacchetti

Kermesse is the result of an inspiration drawn from the lamps of traditional village fairs, in which you see a sequence of very simple but striking light bodies.
Kermesse’s rhythm is the same but only one source is used: a linear fluorescent source is inserted in a transparent tube that works as a structure on which cylindrical diffusers are mounted.
These shield the source, add light movement creating the impression of the following of many independent luminous modules. Each diffuser can rotate on itself and is independent from the others. Given the adjustable cylinders and their material features, the light diffused is lively and quite uniform.
Kermesse comes in various versions: different colours or materials and therefore cylinder optical quality.
One is composed of white modules with a slight touch of colour: a second to last orange or green cylinder that creates an interruption in the sequence. They all are made of fabric and polypropylene, which adds proper support to the structure.
In the second version, different shades of white alternate: uniform opaline, pixel effect, moiré effect and one that is uniform but very noticeable.
Kermesse can be of two different lengths (39 or 54W) according to the linear fluorescent sources used thus it can be composed of five or seven cylinders.
Kermesse is a simple but communicative and good quality product.
It is a strong and forthcoming presence but it is not invasive. Kermesse is light, poetic, evocative thanks to its adjustable diffusers.
Emotions will be stirred up when it comes to choose light fixture lengths, combine the colourful elements and adjust the diffuser inclinations......more

Twopart Chair By Josh Owen

This chair is a reinvention of an ancient archetype. The ingenious idea that inspired the design is thought to have originally evolved in sub-saharan Africa. In that version, two slabs of wood depend upon each other structurally at the simple intersection of a square peg and a square hole. This version of the original masterwork re-imagines this idea in a contemporary setting. High-end lounge chairs usually have large footprints; however, deconstructed into a modest, flat-pack sling-chair, it takes up a minimal amount of space, reduces the cost of shipping and allows the end-user to carry it out of a shop without too much trouble.....more
